In 2019, I had the opportunity to take my first mission trip with my wife to Uganda. That experience became the beginning of more than a dozen trips Keri and I have taken together. Returning to Uganda after several years and seeing the progress LIA has made gives me tremendous hope for the country’s future and deep gratitude for LIA’s mission.
During our time there, we walked alongside leaders in several communities—encouraging them, praying with them, and sharing stories. The days were long, and by the end we were physically and emotionally drained, but our leaders from LIA and Southeast kept our team supported, encouraged, and grounded throughout the entire trip. Our team brought together a variety of strengths, and it was great to see everyone put their talents to work and discover abilities they didn’t even realize they had.
I pray this will not be my last trip to Uganda or my last opportunity to serve with LIA. I also pray that this experience sparks a movement within our team—encouraging each person to continue supporting missions in whatever ways they feel called, just as it has for me.
