Buikwe, Uganda - February 20th - March 1st, 2026!
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure of faith and impact as Southeast Christian Church heads to Buikwe, Uganda to partner with Life in Abundance (LIA)! This isn’t just a trip—it’s a front-row seat to God’s work in action. We’ll link arms with local churches as they ignite transformation in their communities—strengthening church engagement, sparking small businesses and savings groups, improving community health, and launching other life-giving initiatives. You’ll have the opportunity to encourage leaders, pray with families, celebrate victories, and roll up your sleeves to join in the momentum. In Buikwe, you won’t just witness change—you’ll be part of it. Come ready for your heart to be stretched, your faith to grow, and your life to be forever marked by the joy and resilience of the people of Uganda.
There are a few requirements to attend this trip.
1. Complete a Southeast Volunteer Application sent to you by Short-Term Missions once approved.
2. Complete the online MinistrySafe training supplied by Short-Term Missions via email link once approved.
3. All trips require a deposit, which is non-refundable. The IRS considers all monies going towards a mission trip as a charitable donation. To comply with IRS guidelines, we are unable to refund any monies submitted.
4. Once registration opens, you may begin fundraising. Please be aware, at no time are donations refundable. They are considered charitable contributions by the IRS, and as such, can not be refunded.
5. All passports must be valid six (6) months after return date. If your passport will be expiring within that time frame, it will need to be renewed ASAP.
6. Most common food allergens: Peanuts (groundnuts) are widely used in Ugandan cuisines, especially sauces and stews; eggs; cow's milk.
7. Vaccinations: Yellow Fever vaccine is required. Please contact Short-Term Missions on locations available.
8. Visa: Visas are required to enter Uganda. You will need to upload a copy of your passport, Yellow Fever vaccine card, Ugandan visa application, and a 2X2 digital image to your ServiceReef dashboard after approval.

Requirements
Prerequisites
- Southeast Volunteer Application must be completed within 5 days of trip application. Missions Ministry will send to each applicant who has not already completed one.
- MinistrySafe online training must be complete by deadline.
- NON-REFUNDABLE $100 deposit is required at time of application.
Responsibilities
- SE Volunteer Application completed by deadline - Missions Logistics will send to you if one is not on file of if it needs to be renewed.
- Mandatory attendance at team meeting(s) and overnight team retreat.
- If your passport expires within six (6) months of trip return, it needs to be renewed prior to trip departure.
- It is the team member's responsibility to fundraise for the trip. If fundraising goals are not met, participant will either be required to cover the amount not raised or drop from trip.
- All deadlines must be met and participant acknowledges missing a deadline will cause disqualification from trip.
- Read & agree to the Social Media Policy.
- Passport: If you do not have one, be sure to have it EXPEDITED at application. This is a personal cost.
Restrictions
- This trip requires participants 16+ only. Please read full descriptions before applying.
- Physical Limitations: This trip requires a lot of walking and long days. Meals may be irregular and lunches, especially, may be light. Please speak to the team leader for more information about the trip before applying if you think you might not be able to walk long hours or handle an irregular meal schedule.
- Allergies: If you have a severe allergy requiring the use of Epi-Pens in a critical situation, please discuss with the team leader.
