Men's Work Week - The Samaritan Women
Overview
A team of volunteers from Southeast will be joining together for repairs, maintenance, painting and remodeling at The Samaritan Women, a Southeast partner in Baltimore, Maryland. TSW is a residential facility that rescues women from the sex trafficking industry. If you have a special skill and/or experience in construction/remodeling, we would love for you to consider this trip. Although special skills are desired, unskilled labor is needed as well. The weekend portion of this trip will be spent helping set up for and attending the Freedom BBQ, a fun, community awareness event hosted by TSW. The week will culminate with worship at a Southeast-supported church plant in Baltimore before returning home.
Objectives
- Encouraging the TSW staff as they serve those trapped in trafficking
- Completing much-needed work projects and preparing for the BBQ
- Worshiping at a Baltimore area church plant
Considerations
Please remember the residents at TSW have come from broken backgrounds. All team members will be required to complete a background assessment prior to leaving for this trip. Before applying for this trip, please consider the following aspects:
- Skilled and unskilled labor needed
- Trip involves manual labor and possible hot temperatures
