The love & joy of the Lord is like living water

Are you wanting to deepen your faith? Do you have a passion to love people into the kingdom and to come alongside a church overseas and help build their youth group? Have you grown closer to the Lord at a Christian camp? Do you want to serve alongside people from Southeast to show the joy of the Lord? Then this mission trip is for you.
The local church in Subotica, Serbia asked us to help them run an evangelistic camp for the youth of their city. As soon as we met the Serbian church members, we felt like we were one body with one purpose -to draw youth into the church to experience the fun and joy of the Lord.
I'll only share a couple of stories, and I am changing the names. Sara was on the church team and was placed in the highest class, but she was too new to English to translate for them. So I was asked to switch her into my class. The Lord had already connected Sara and I only one hour before this, and I felt it was God at work. She was asked if she wanted to come my class to help us. She said YES. Within an hour of being in my class, she stood up and announced, "I want to hug you!" Which she did and she hung on. Even though we could not communicate well due to different languages, she saw the Lord's love for her and responded.
The other story I will tell you is about the father of two girls in my group. I was told he was a strong atheist, and I saw it in his body language when I first met him. But the last day of camp was the talent show and his two daughters were performing. All the parents were invited, and the church was full. He was there as well. As each of the campers performed, parents pulled out their phones and recorded. It was like we were at a recital. What you don't know is that it is a big deal in Serbia for people to walk into an evangelical church. They are told evangelical churches are a cult and are warned to stay away. The joy on everyone's faces that night spoke volumes, and when this father came the next morning to drop off his daughters for the last camp gathering, he stayed and we talked for quite some time. It wasn't a spiritual conversation, but he was open to connect. Please join us next year and be used by the Lord to encourage the local church and to draw not-yet believers into the kingdom.
