This summer, a Southeast Missions Team will go to Israel to work at a summer youth camp with a Messianic Jewish organization that operates all over the world to share the love of Jesus Christ with the Jewish nation. This ministry provides youth camps to families involved in their ministry outreach programs, and Southeast will send a team to assist at a week-long summer camp and lead some activities. Proem Ministries, a long-time Southeast Missions Partner who has run youth camps in Poland for over 20 years, will also send a team to assist with this camp. The purpose of the camp is to introduce Jesus to Jewish children ages 9-15 thru group time and applying what they have learned during programs and/or worship. The campers will stay five nights and will be primarily led through the week by the counselors of ministry. Each day will consist of consistent worship time, program time, and group time, as well as several activities throughout each day. Activities range from swimming, athletic games, and crafts, to specific workshops like video editing, photography, culinary arts, and more.
We are looking for people who are comfortable being around teenagers and children in a different culture and have a desire to show and share the love of Jesus. Due to language barriers, there will be no overt expectations to lead group sessions or have responsibilities to lead the campers. Most of the camp counselors were once campers and know how to lead the campers. However, you must be comfortable leading students through workshops and assisting the counselors and camp leaders as needed. The facility will be air-conditioned, but all trip participants should know that July in Israel is extremely hot.
