All trip participants must be an active Southeast member or attendee for at least 6 months with verifiable attendance/participation. 

       A team of women and men from Southeast will walk alongside The Samaritan Women (TSW) in a Human Trafficking Immersion Experience. The Samaritan Women’s mission is to promote health, healing and hope for survivors of human trafficking.  TSW offers a transitional residence program for women who are recovering from trauma and trafficking.  

       As part of this educational opportunity, team members will feed the homeless, tour areas of human trafficking, visit local justice agencies, meet with survivors of trafficking, watch documentaries and have daily spiritual reflections, all with a goal of promoting awareness of trafficking.

Objectives

  • To encourage the staff and residents at The Samaritan Women
  • To experience first-hand the realities of human trafficking  

Considerations

       This trip is intended for people who have a passion for learning about human trafficking. All team members will be required to complete a background assessment in addition to online Ministry Safe Training prior to leaving for this trip.

Meet your team. Receive an overview of the trip. Receive fundraising information. Begin praying for the trip. This meeting generally occurs within two weeks after the application deadline.

Mandatory Retreat Required

Blankenbaker Campus - Fellowship Hall 109 (lunch included)

This is mandatory for all trip participants and usually occurs 3-4 weeks prior to the trip departure date. You will participate in team building activities, review the team handbook, receive travel information, etc. Attendance is required in order to serve on this trip.

Responsibilities

  1. Meet all paperwork and trip cost deadlines.
  2. Adhere to the Team Covenant at all times. *see Forms tab
  3. Attend all Team Meetings and Mandatory Retreat.
  4. Trip cost does not include spending money and food/drinks in airports.
