Cookson Hills Construction Trip 2018
All trip participants must be an active Southeast member or attendee for at least 6 months with verifiable attendance/participation.
A group of Southeast men and women will join together to make repairs and do renovation on two facilities at Cookson Hills, a ranch-like residential facility for at-risk children and teens. The team will require both skilled and unskilled labor. Projects will include staining concrete floors, patching walls, painting, minor plumbing, light electrical, remodeling kitchen area, installing cabinets/counters/appliances, and possibly other projects as needed. * Professional painters preferred.
Objectives
- Build relationships and encouraging the staff, house parents, and students at Cookson Hills
- Accomplish much-needed work projects at Cookson Hills
Considerations
Please remember the students of Cookson Hills have come from broken backgrounds. All team members will be required to complete a background assessment and online Ministry Safe Training prior to leaving for this trip. Before applying for this trip, please consider the following aspects:
- Skilled and unskilled labor needed
- Trip involves manual labor in hot, humid temperatures

Mandatory Retreat Required
This is mandatory for all trip participants and usually occurs 3-4 weeks prior to the trip departure date. You will participate in team building activities, review the team handbook, receive travel information, etc. Attendance is required in order to serve on this trip.

Responsibilities
- Meet all paperwork and trip cost deadlines.

- Attend all Team Meetings and Mandatory Retreat.
- Trip cost does not include spending money and food/drinks in airports.
