Appalachia Service Trip - 920 HSM
Participation in student mission trips is overseen by each campus student ministry.
A team from Blankenbaker HSM will spend a week in July serving the Appalachia Region. They will join with Crossroads Mission, a Southeast-supported missions partner, for a week of worship and service in Pike County, Kentucky. The group will engage local churches and school groups through encouragement and fellowship. This is a great opportunity for students who have a passion for missions and service to gain first-had experience while serving various churches and ministries.
Objectives
- Offer a high-energy, spirit-filled week of service, worship and team-building
- Serve alongside the churches and their ministry partners in the community
- Bond with fellow students in the group as they share the common goal of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Meet your team. Receive an overview of the trip. Receive fundraising information. Begin praying for the trip. This meeting generally occurs within two weeks after the application deadline.

Mandatory Team Retreat Required
This is mandatory for all trip participants and usually occurs 4 weeks prior to the trip departure date. You will participate in team building activities, review the team handbook, receive travel information, etc.

Minor Legal Release and Indemnity Agreement (under 18) Required

Requirements
Prerequisites
- Complete online application and pay $50 non-refundable deposit.
- All required forms should be turned in by the application deadline of May 12.
Responsibilities
- Meet all paperwork and trip cost deadlines.
- Adhere to the Team Covenant at all times. *see Forms tab
- Attend all Team Meetings and Mandatory Retreat.
- Trip cost does not include your personal spending money.
Restrictions
- This trip is only for those students who are at least 13 years of age.
Preparation
- Pray.
- Discuss with your family.
- Submit all required forms by the application deadline.
