2024 Josiah Venture Croatia - Travel/English Camp
Come join our SE team headed to partner with Josiah Venture in Croatia this summer. The SE Prospect Campus is facilitating this trip and it is ideal for individuals aged 18-30.
To give you an idea of what to expect, the 2023 team who went on this trip enjoyed an intense ten days of travel while visiting six countries. Most days consisted of traveling with 30 people by bus to various stops and countries, stopping for an overnight where they had dinner, participated in an evening program consisting of teaching and discussion, then bed around 1am. Most mornings the team was up early to participate in a 7:30a devotional, then breakfast and the next country!!!
This year, the team can be prepared for a similar trip which will be outrageously amazing while also being physically demanding. There will be loads of traveling by van, many stops, small meal portions, and very long days. Partnered with that is opportunities to help others practice their English, discuss the Gospel, build life-long bonds with your team, and feel God move throughout the trip.
About Croatia:
For 50 years, Croatia was one of the six republics within the communist country of Yugoslavia. In the early 1990's, the fall of communism lead to a brutal civil war that cost thousands of lives, displaced many people and devastated the economy. Though Croatia gained its independence and international recognition early on, the recovery has been slow. As a post-communist country, Croatia has reverted to its ethno-religious roots of Catholicism that date back to the eighth century. Most Croatians identify themselves as Roman Catholic although many would openly acknowledge their faith as nominal. The countryside is speckled with old stone churches, but most of them are empty and only cultural points of interest.
In light of the small number of believers, Josiah Venture's primary focus in Croatia is evangelism and discipleship of youth. We partner with local evangelical churches to equip and develop young people in their faith. Our prayer is to see mature, disciple-making youth that have been equipped to fulfill Christ's commission through the local church.

Restrictions:
1) Trip members must be adult members of Southeast Christian church or have verified attended for at least 6 months.
2) Trip members must have a current passport with an expiration date that goes 6 months beyond the last day of the trip.
3) Trip members must be able to actively walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs.
4) Daily basic travel insurance is included in your trip costs.

Requirements
Prerequisites
- If over the age of 18, MinistrySafe must be completed and current. The Missions Ministry will send this to each person who does not have it after they have signed up for the trip.
- Southeast Volunteer Application must be completed within 5 days of trip application. Missions Ministry will send to each applicant who has not already completed one.
- Please upload clear, color copies of passports to ServiceReef via the My Dashboard link at top of page in jpeg or pdf format. Passport must be valid 6 months from trip return date.
- Non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of conditional approval for trip.
Responsibilities
- Updated vaccine requirements are NOT included in trip cost. Required vaccines are sole responsibility of participants. Please visit the CDC website to check requirements for your destination. https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/list
- The amount of travel can be exhausting, a positive attitude is key!
- Work with Team Leader(s) to understand the culture and how to respond positively to situations which are different than ours.
- Talk to the Team Leader(s) to get an idea of how physically and mentally demanding the trip might be and pray for guidance to ensure it's the trip for you.

- Must be 18 or older
- Passport must be valid through January 29, 2025. If expiring before then, it will need to be renewed prior to depature.
