Organization Overview: Father’s Love

Father’s Love exists in the heart of downtown Shelbyville to bring holistic transformation to children, youth, and families through spiritual development, Christian community development, and strategic partnerships. Our vision is to see every student grow in Godly character, be rooted in their identity in Christ, and flourish in leadership to impact their communities and the world. We have three avenues of serving students in our community: Dreamers Rise (elementary program), Arise (middle & high program) and Backpack (food program).

Dreamers Rise is a holistic program for K-5th grade students that includes education, spiritual development, and enrichment activities to further expose students to careers, skills, and activities meeting twice a week.

At Arise, we want to bring youth to faith and fellowship in Jesus Christ. Our prayer is that all youth will know the plan and purpose that God has for their lives. We do this by teaching God’s word and molding Jesus in everything that we do through education and spiritual development.

The Backpack Program provides weekend nourishment (meals and snacks) to food-insecure children who rely on school nutrition programs during the week. In partnership with local schools, the organization identifies students in need—a critical process supported by teachers, school counselors, and/or other school administrators. Bags filled with kid-friendly, shelf-stable food items are discreetly distributed each week during the school year. The program helps ensure that children have consistent access to nutritious food when school meals are unavailable, directly supporting their health, well-being, and ability to learn. The program provides weekend nourishment to over 500 children each week. For context, in our service area, Shelby County, KY, 13.5% of children face food insecurity, highlighting the significant community need the program addresses.

Mission: Empower youth to dream big, rise above obstacles, and become impactful leaders through Christ-centered mentorship, education, and spiritual guidance.

Vision: To see every student grow in Godly character, be rooted in their identity in Christ, and flourish in leadership to impact their communities and the world.

Pillar: Love God. Love Others.

Verse: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
— Jeremiah 29:11
