Sanctuary of Sisters Volunteer - Clothing Closet
BLOC Louisville is a place of hope for the residents of West Louisville.
SOS is a safe place for women who are being sex trafficked, in prostitution, have substance abuse issues, or simply need refuge from the streets.
At the BLOC Sanctuary of Sisters Clothing Closet, we believe that clothing is more than fabric - it is a gesture of care, a covering of dignity, and a reflection of God’s provision. Volunteers in this sacred space help ensure that every woman who enters feels seen, honored, and equipped with essentials that affirm her worth.
• Sort & Steward Donations: Inspect, sort, and organize clothing by size, season, and category. Ensure items are clean, gently used, and ready to bless.
• Create a Welcoming Display: Fold, hang, and arrange garments in a way that invites peace and choice. Maintain a tidy, respectful atmosphere.
• Support Guest Experience: Prepare the space for distribution days so that each guest feels safe, valued, and uplifted.
• Collaborate in Spirit: Serve alongside others with humility, grace, and a shared commitment to honoring every sister who visits.
Ideal Qualities
• A heart for hospitality and quiet service
• Respect for the sacredness of each garment and guest
• Ability to work independently or in fellowship with others
Time Commitment
