WHERE
Scottsville, KY
HOSTED BY
Serve alongside 3 other volunteer families at a life-changing weekend of fun and relaxation for families with physical or developmental disabilities. All families of all ages and sizes can find a place of service at our camps!
Our retreats run from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon and consist of four volunteer host families, serving three guest families. We host around 20 family retreats a year, from June through October.

A weekend spent serving at Barren Heights truly is a free family mission trip! As a volunteer host family, your role is essentially that of a camp counselor. There will be age appropriate jobs assigned to each volunteer, but your main role is simply to make sure the guest families feel Loved, Accepted, Welcomed, and Safe!

Mainly, the weekends are a time for guest families to relax, play, and get to know others who are dealing with similar situations. There is a nice mixture of scheduled group activities and family free time. A few family favorites include archery, a bonfire, barn church, crafts, family competitions, tractor rides, our splash pad, board games, puzzles, basketball, 9-square, ping pong, tennis, frisbee golf, and more!
